INFORMATION: Please make sure to provide as much information as possible about the divorce: the husband’s name, wife’s name, and the date or year the divorce was filed. If you do not know the exact date, please specify a time frame in which you think the divorce was filed. This must be a 10-year range at most. The more information that you can provide the faster and more accurate our results will be. If you know details such as middle initials, please include these as this helps us reduce the chance of duplicate or inaccurate records being returned.

CHARGES: The charge for divorce record searches in Colorado is about $35. However, the state can change its prices at any time. For the most current price list, click here. This price list is updated daily.

PAPER COPIES: On the ordering page, you have the option of requesting that a paper copy be sent to you by mail. If you are ordering a complete paper copy of the divorce decree, there will be an additional charge of $2 per page after the first three pages.  Additional charges may apply for searching across several years-worth of records if you are not sure of the correct date or year.

ARCHIVED RECORDS: Records filed within the past fifteen years are easily accessible in most counties.  If the divorce was filed more than 15 years ago, the records may be archived and it may take longer to research depending upon the county. Additional charges may apply for searching archived records.  You will be notified in advance if there are any additional research charges, and we will obtain your consent before billing your credit card.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: Enter any additional information or special requests that you might have in the Comments Box at the bottom of the order screen. Any further information that you may be able to provide is often of great assistance in finding the information that you seek.

DELIVERY TIME: Turnaround time is normally 7-10 business days for verification only that a divorce has been filed.  It can take from seven days to more than two weeks if a paper copy of the decree is requested. Results are e-mailed to you, or they can be faxed upon request, or mailed if a paper copy was requested. We cannot guarantee turnaround time as we are dependent on the accessibility of court records, and this can vary widely with the load that the records office is experiencing.

In General
The divorce records are made up of two parts, the DIVORCE DECREE and the DIVORCE RECORDS.

DIVORCE DECREE - A divorce decree is the courts ruling summarizing the relative rights and duties of the parties.  It is a final summary document stating the basic information about the divorce, the parties involved, the date of divorce, case number, the terms that the parties have agreed to, etc.

DIVORCE RECORD - The divorce record consists of all of the legal pages filed for a divorce.  For a complex divorce settlement the actual records can be up to two hundred pages long.

Records can generally be obtained within 7 to 10 business days, depending on the state and county. Older records, or documents that have been placed in archived storage, WILL take longer to access. This is beyond our control, and varies from state to state, courthouse to courthouse, and county to county.

Please Note: We do NOT issue divorces. We perform a search of the state or county archived records of divorces to verify that a divorce, or dissolution of marriage, has been filed and/or finalized.

*** We provide an actual copy of the divorce decree. In the event the divorce decree is longer than 3 pages, we charge $2.00 per page for each additional page. The majority of documents are three pages or less, and only rarely is this additional charge incurred. But we will not know how long the actual document is until our researcher has pulled it from the records office and copied it. We can limit the number of pages copied if you state in the comments field of the ordering page that you wish to cap the charges to a certain amount. We can pass this information on to our researcher BEFORE they pull the records. The additional copy charges, if incurred, will be charged directly to your credit card.
